Lotus Archive File Deleted automatically after routine archival

Asked by farhankazi in Lotus Notes, Hard Drives & Storage

Tags: IBM, Lotus Notes, 6.5.6

Today as part of the routine, I was archiving my Lotus Notes to my existing archival file (the .NSF file size to which my data was being appended was around 4.5 GB). After the archival was completed, i went to check on the file and even though the log file was present but to my horror the file had gone missing.

I searched all my hard drives thoroughly and I have also tried a number of recovery tools (GetDataBack, Easy Recovery, Acronis) but to no avail. These softwares are recovering file deleted 15 days ago, but are unable to find / recover the archival file.

Can someone please tell me what actually happen which led to this and more importantly how do I recover my file as I don't have the backup of my archival.

Thanks in advance for providing me a viable solution.

Regards,
