Can't Hide Field in Lotus Notes Forward Memo

I have several fields on a form, and I want to hide one when I forward the form (via a memo) if another field is blank.  I thought I could do that with the "Hide" options for the field, but its not working.  The fields are "Summary_Label" and "Summary".  I have set "Summary_Label" to display the word "Summary:" as the default value.  Right under that is the "Summary" field.  If someone enters text in the Summary field, when the form is forwarded, then the Summary_Label field should display.  If they DONT enter text in the Summary field, I dont want the Summary_Label to display on the saved or forwarded doc.  I thought I could enter

Summary = "" & !@IsDocBeingEdited

in the "Hide paragraph if formula is true" field, but that didn't work.  Can you help?  My code is pretty simple:

stab in the dark here, but are the fields in question Rich Text Fields?

If you remove the & !@IsDocBeingEdited from your hide when formula do you get a different result?
Perhaps you could simply tick the Previewed for reading / Opened for reading checkboxes instead?

You could also try ticking the "Copied to the clipboard" option. This will prevent the field from displaying when you forward the document.

Thanks for responding.  The field is a simple "Text" field in the Properties.  When I remove the "DocBeingEdited" part, the Summary_Label is hidden at the start of the process, which I dont want.  I only want it hidden when the form is being forwarded and IF the Summary field is blank.  If I select any other checkboxes outside of the formula option, I assume that wont work because I want the field to be forwarded IF the Summary field has data.

forwarding creates a new document and copies all of the contents into the new memo. Your hide formulas are from the old document.

Can you just use the send method? that will send the original doc instead of creating a new one

After the uidoc.Close, you should not expect much to happen... the form will be closed, and all logic with it.
