hi I have applied DAMO 8.0.2,now I'm getting an error message can't create your address book, on the other hand I check in the mail profile that it hs created outlook profile, however, once I try to login I provide the same password of Lotus but it gives me an error an outlook close

Using DAMO is interesting... have only used it with Outlook 2003 so far and has SO many problems with international emails with R7 so using 802 which seems stable.

The password required is going to be the one that matches the id file suplied... could be it has picked up an ID file from the NAB Person document rather than a local one so the password is your original one not current one.  Have a lok through for the ID file in use from the damo INI file and replace it with the one from your Notes data dir.

I have checked the user / ID it looks fine, unless there is something specific I need to chane.

please advise

You said the password did not work? The password matches the ID file so if it is not working with the password then you need to find the password for that ID file, or replace the ID file with one you know the password for.

The problem is that I followed all the steps that is related to the installation, and I have only 1 ID which is located in C:\Notes\Data\xxxxx.ID, all what I did i selected this ID while the the installation, and once I'm trying to open it though Mail profile to configure it doesn't take the password, I went through the ini file and it shows the same ID file, therefore, I'm not sure if this a password things or I should be doing an other configuration.
PS while doing the installation I had a problem that " Can't configured Lotus notes Address Book"
I checked many news group and many people are facing the same issue.

Can you give us the URLs of the posts in the news groups you mentioned?? I'd hate to search for something you already found...

I wonder if this is an issue peculiar to Office 2007 - sorry I haven't tried it with that yet myself, though only  a matter of time before someone wants to use that configuration (then I have still got customers on Office 2000 and even Office 97...).
DAMO is pretty finickiy though so it MAY be worth removing that profile from Outlook, remove DAMO from add/remove programs and go through it all again... make sure you enter the servername in full server/ou/org format as it seems to play up if not.

I'll get one of my VM's setup with Office 2007 when I can and give it a try myself.... so let me know if you find a fix before I do!!

Actually I didn't reach the stage of running DAMO I'm facing this issue while installing
"Failed to crate a new MAPI profile. Error configuring Domino Adress Book service"
which is leading to password to be wrong :(

I'm curious what fixed it in the end then for future reference, those don't really tell much specific info?

I *assume* the reinstall procedure of the first link did it. But I'm curious too...

by: yfawazPosted on 2009-09-15 at 04:08:10ID: 25333612

Actually it was the IP instead for the server name

by: dragon-itPosted on 2009-09-15 at 04:27:24ID: 25333693

So presumably the computer couldn't resolve the Notes server name then .... DAMO is a PITA like this... have tried a number of methods, I believe you are supposed to put the server name in, it seems if you put an IP in too then I have never got it working that way.  You are then supposed to be able to change the replication settings once in outlook to add an IP address and it creates a connection document.

Once I had it working for my customer I left well alone, why they won't use Notes 7.x or 8.x I don't know...
