We have 2 mail domain, one with Lotus Domino (6.5.6) and other in Exchange server 2007
A Notes user sends a message to another Notes user who has forwards their mail to an exchange email id(smtp id). The To field of the message contains the recipient's Notes address and the sender chooses to encrypt the message using Notes encryption. The Internet mail recipient receives the Notes encrypted message but is not able to view the contents of the body. When the recipient attempts to view the message, the body of the message contains the following information:
"Portions of this MIME document are encrypted with a Notes certificate and cannot be read"
