Error transferring to mykweb.KLINGSPOR.COM; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

Asked by mccrearymodern in Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Lotus Notes

Tags: Lotus Notes Client 8.5, Domino Server on iSeries 8.5, SMTP

When trying to send an email to this particular domain,  we get this msg delivered back to us by the server.    I am not having this problem with any other domain.   When I try to do a tracert to this domain,  it times out,  unsuccessfully.    The ip address is 12.6.8.30.

The problem is mutual in the fact that anyone at that domain can't send an email successfully to me either.   They on the other hand,  do not get a msg bounced back that says undeliverable.  I know, you're going to suggest some sort of filtering issue,  I've checked with my Spam filtering service and have monitored for msgs coming from the Klingspor domain, however there are no msgs being filtered,  or even showing to be delivered to my email server.

They tell me that they do black list, as do we.  They also whitelist, as do we.  We are on their whitelist,  they are on my whitelist.   But still no luck delivering mail to one another.

Here is a typical error msg in the log file :

11/04/2009 09:56:38   Router: Transferring mail to domain KLINGSPOR.COM (host mykweb.KLINGSPOR.COM [12.6.8.30]) via SMTP
11/04/2009 09:56:38   Router: No messages transferred to KLINGSPOR.COM (host mykweb.KLINGSPOR.COM) via SMTP
11/04/2009 09:56:38   Router: Error transferring message 004E5F80 via SMTP to mykweb.KLINGSPOR.COM  SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error

I have the SMTP inbound and outbound restrictions configuration if those are needed.
Please advise.

Any help is greatly appreciated !
