i have excel file like following:

telphone_no    class     unit
75001              1         10
75001              2          20
75001              3          30
75002              2          40
75002              3          50
75003              2          60
75004              1          70

i want this table in another sheet or location in follwing format:

telphone_no    class1    class2  class3   total
75001             10        20        30       60
75002              0         40        50       90
75003              0          60       0         60
75004              70        0        0          70

can anybody help me ?

select your data

hit Next twice
select Layout
drag Telephone_no to ROW, drag class to COLUMN and then drag unit to DATA

but i need another new format like following

where classA=class1 and classB=class1+class2
i hope u can help me.

The easiest way is to set up three further columns in Dave's solution and, if desired, hide the cass1, 2, 3 columns.

Do not accept this as an answer as the answer to your original question came from Dave.

Sorry matio, I missed your later question

You could either set up a new column as Saqib advised or you cold add a user defined calauation to the pivottable. Setting up a new column would be the most straightforward way
