Browse All TopicsHi Everyone,
I'm extremely confused at something, would love some help with it. Its nothing you can really duplicate (I don't think), so unless you've seen it before, you're gonna have to see this file. I don't have anywhere to upload this, as most of the hosting sites are blocked for me, unfortunately. If anyone can post it for me, I'll email it to them.
One of my coworkers has a workbook that contains about 15-20 sheets. She was trying to make a summary page that summed up a particular value on each sheet for some of the numbers. The sheets are not uniform in setup, so no 3d formulas (unfortunately).
This was going fine, until she reached a specific sheet in the workbook that didn't allow her to point to a cell like this. There are actually 3 sheets total in the workbook doing this weird behavior.
She gets to the point in the formula like:
=Sheet1!A1+Sheet2!B1+Sheet
And sheet4 isn't allowing her to choose a cell. The mouse pointer, normally the 'plus' symbol on most sheets, is just a normal pointer on the bad sheets. We can manually type in the cell reference for the bad sheets, and it works fine, but does anyone know why it doesn't allow us to select a cell?
When I start a formula like this in a bad sheet, it allows works just fine, even if i click to another sheet first, select a cell there, and then click back to the bad one. But it won't allow me choose a cell on a different bad sheet.
I tried copy/pasting formats onto the bad sheets, tried copying the sheets entirely, even to another workbook, and it is still happening. No vba in this file. No protection. No properties are changed on any of the sheets (that I could find).
Help!
Matt
