Every time I open an excel document, before it loads it acts like it's installing some feature/component thing. It never asks for the cd, just does it itself, and then opens the document. It doesn't do it if I just open excel to a blank spreadsheet, or have excel running and do file>open, and open a document. Only when I go to like explorer, or open an excel email attachment...any time it's loading excel and a document at the same time.
It's really frustrating, and slows down loading quite a bit. Any thoughts?
btw, I asked this question sometime back, but the answer didn't fix my problem: http://www.experts-exchang

CoolATIGuy,
You definately aren't the only one with this problem. I don't know any solution though, sorry. I have the same problem with my machine at home, I'll try a few things and let you know....
In the mean time, check out below:

Do you think maybe it's an add-in issue?
If so, select from the Tools menu the Add-Ins choic. See all the available and check them, if you don't find any, click the Browse button to navigate to the directory into which you placed your excel files.
Or an Automatic update issue?

I have seen this before as well. I believe a solution is to actually get the CD and re-install Excel. It is probably missing a feature or didn't install fully the first time.
Let me know if this works.
