did you try to save it in excel 97-2000 format?

Browse All TopicsHi there,
I have the following formula in 168 cells (the $B9 can change depending on the cell). It apparently works and returns the data it is supposed to correctly.
=IF(ISERROR(GETPIVOTDATA(P
The problem comes why I try to save my workbook. I get the following error:
"A formula in cell (Name:[Refinery F-Tag Tracking System.xls]Summary!REFCELL
Do you want to see additional errors as they occur so you can fix them later?
-To see each erro as it occurs, click Yes.
-To get only a count of the number of errors when Microsoft Office Excel is finished saving, click No.
-To Cancel the save, click Cancel.
Continue reporting each error?"
I get 168 errors... all my formulas work apparently, including my pivot tables and sorting macros. I haven't found anything that doesnt work.
My question is: What the crap? Oh... and how do I fix this?
I only get REFCELL on the very first error, the rest of them all throw a cell number. Absolutely everything is working however.
I initially created this workbook in Excel 97, but within the last week I have upgraded to excel 2003, although I cant see what problems that would cause in this case, especially since everything is working.
Thanks!!
Ryan

mgroyal,
That pointed me in the right direction! For some reason, although My workbook was being saved as a Microsoft office excel workbook, when I would paste from Excel running remotely from a Citrix server, the format would change to a format compatible with excel 5... so in short, everything works, unless I open it in excel 5. What I did to get around this problem: Instead of straight pasting, my macro now does a pastespecial and pastes the values only. This apparently doesnt affect the format that my workbook wants to save in... and hence no more errors. So your comment got me looking in the right direction.
Much Appreciated!

Dear Ryan,
might have something to do with the pivot table option "Save data with layout" ?
