The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Excel SumProduct or Sum(If(criteria) Problem

Asked by Metallimirk in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

I have two worksheets, one is Dollar, and other is Graph.

In the Dollar worksheet, I have several columns. A is a list of accounts, J is the sales rep for the account, K is the volume of sales for the account. The values in K are determined by the formula below:
=IF(F6<999,"Under 1K",IF(F6>100000,"Over 100K",IF(F6>50000,"50K to 100K",IF(F6>25000,"25K to 50K",IF(F6>10000,"10K to 25K",IF(F6>5000,"5K to 10K",IF(F6>2000,"2K to 5K",IF(F6>1000,"1K to 2K"))))))))

That all works fine. I now need to count values for each rep. So I have created a table in the "Graph" Sheet. The Reps are in Cells F2:F12, and all the possible variables are in F1:M1. I am trying to create a Sum(If) statement to count the instances of columns J and K matching the table. I am using the formulas below:

=SUMPRODUCT((Dollar!$J$1:Dollar!$J$1884=E2)*(Dollar!$K$1:Dollar!$K$1884=F1)*Dollar!#REF!:Dollar!#REF!)

=SUM(IF((Dollar!$J$1:Dollar!$J$1884=$E2)*(Dollar!$K$1:Dollar!$J$1884=F$1),1,0))

I tried both as normal, and as an array, but I always get #N/A or a 0 for the value.

An example of the data is below:
A        J        K
-----------------------------
Acct   Rep    Status
002    Bill     Over 100K
003    Tom   Over 50K
005    Tom   Over 100K
010    Lou    Over 25K
050     Bill     Over 100K
075     Bill     Over 100K
080     Lou    Over 25K
091    Tom    Over 50K
