Browse All TopicsHi,
I could not find this anywhere in my Excel Help file. I am trying to see how to format a bunch of cells so that they include unit names so I do not have to type out the unit name in each cell (I do not want to add another right adjacent cell with just the name). I want to have the word "days" (no quotes) automatically added to the immediate right of each number that I type into the cell. So, for example, if I type in "12" and Excel adds the word "days" the cell would show "12days". Similar to when you format a cell to show currency so that you key in the number in the cell and excel adds the dollar sign to the beginning of the number.
How do I accomplish this?
Thanks in advance,
njb

Yes, it is very similiar to formatting a cell.
Select the cells you need to format in this way.
Choose the "Custom" category via [CTRL]+[1] "Format Cells".
Type into the "Type" field:
@"days"
Click [OK] to confirm.
