The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Lookup Query?

Asked by redseatechnologies in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

Tags: excel, lookup, query

Hi all,

I am trying to get this spreadsheet to do something and it just aint working for me.

I have 2 sheets, one is a list of all users with details on their projects - the other is a list of all projects with details on their users.  We want to be able to choose between the views of either by project, or by user.

Now, that actual problem I am having is;

User Sheet

        A           B           C           D
1   User1   ProjectA    Data      Data
2   User1   ProjectB    Data      Data
3   User1   ProjectC    Data      Data
4   Totals for User 1
5   User2   ProjectB    Data      Data
6   User2   ProjectC    Data      Data
7   User2   ProjectD    Data      Data

Project Sheet

        A           B           C           D
1  ProjectA   Data       Data     User1
2  ProjectA   Data       Data     User2
3  ProjectA   Data       Data     User3
4   Totals for ProjectA
5  ProjectB   Data       Data     User2
6  ProjectB   Data       Data     User3
7  ProjectB   Data       Data     User4

Basically, what I need to do is something like this (but less ugly, and working)

User Sheet - In cell C1
If A1 and B1 line up anywhere in Sheet2, = Sheet2!B?

I had a crack at Vlookups, but with my limited knowledge of excel, and worse memory from when I actually managed to do it before, it was unsuccessful.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated

thanks
