Browse All TopicsHi experts, I'm doing a small VBA project for Excel. To connect to database, I imported ADODB reference. I tried the following code to connect to database but got a runtime error.
Code:
Public Sub test()
Dim con As New ADODB.Connection
Dim constr As String
constr = "data source=myserver;initial catalog=mydb;User id=myusrid;password=mypass
con.Open constr
End Sub
the error is:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
Actually, I used the exact same connection string in my other VB.NET project (I used sqlClient connection) and it worked. so I guess ODBC works differently and caused my VBA code cracked down?
Any help will be really appreciated
