Thank you.
I have just check that and found there are two settings: min and max. Can I just increase them to whatever the space allowed or we have some formula to calculate them?

Every time when open my 50 MB .xls file, I got a message window:
File in use
.xls is blocked for editing
So, I close this window and close Excel. Then immediately reopen this .xls file without any problem.
Any idea? How to fit the problem?

dartnut,
There probably is some optimum size for the Page File however I don't think it is crucial so long as it's large enough. My Page File is set at approximately 2% of the size of my hard disk, however as you will have seen the setting is in Mb not Gb - so make sure you get that bit right! You can of course just increase it to Max permitted and see if that helps.

By the sounds of it you have insufficient RAM and too small a Page File (Swap file).
Check the size of the Page File (sometimes referred to as the Swap File). Have a look in Start/ControlPanel/System/
To change the setting Press the Change button and make the changes there.
I have 0.5Gb RAM and 88Gb of HDD and my Page file is set at 1532Mb. However I do not have any really large files. To change the setting Press the Change button and make the changes there.
Hope that helps
