Stange Visual Basic Problem - TYPE MISMATCH - 500pts

Hi Experts -

Im hoping you may be able to help.

I have written a program in excel (Approx 22mb)
On opening it runs an xla addin then a few checks on dates, registry entries and on a hidden sheet wether it is registered or not.

It works perfectly on half a dozen machines that have it installed

The problem is when loading it on a particular laptop, it always comes up with VISUAL BASIC ERROR - TYPE MISMATCH and thats it. No debug or anything. Then the addin does not load.

If I run the addin first then open the program I get the same message.
I have bypassed all the startup events I can think of by putting exit sub before all my on workbook open code but I cant work out whats causing the error?

Any suggestions are most welcome
