Excel Pivot table PAGE date format

Hello,

I've got an issue with the date format with a Pivot Table that I've just created:

Column name: Last Login Month
(cell A1) 20070122 in a number format
(cell A2) formula =DATEVALUE(MID(Q2,5,2)&"/"&LEFT(Q2,4)) with the custom format of 'mmm-yyyy'
displayed in cell A2 as 'Jan-2007'


But when the 'Last Login Month' data is utilised in the PAGE section of the pivot table the date is displayed as 01/01/07 in the drop-down box options, how do I convert this to display Jan-07 or even as 01/07, or any thing minus the day value?
I've tried changing the format of the cell to the custom format of 'mmm-yyyy' but it doesn't alter the format of the drop-down box of the pivot table, as I still get the likes of 01/11/06, 01/12/06, and 01/01/07.

Hi Kyn,

If you select the Date field then from the main menu, select Data|Group, enter a start and end date and select by Months.

Right-click the page field, choose FIeld properties, click the Number button and set the format you want.
