Disable mouse shortcuts in Excel 2003? Win XP SP2

Asked by MHenry in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

I don't even know how to begin to search for this so I'm hoping one of you experts can help.

I have to edit a bunch of names in Excel. I do this by double clicking in the cell and then making my changes.

The issue is, every once in a while, I double click toward the top or the bottom of the cell and Excel bumps me to the top of the worksheet or to the bottom.

Is there any way to turn this shortcut off? It's the most annoying gosh darn feature I've ever seen.

Thanks,
