Browse All TopicsI am using SUMPRODUCT to extract certain sales data from a sheet. One of the things I need to extract is the qty or dollar sales based on the product name. Here is the part of the formula I need help with
(LEFT(Sales!$E$2:$E$20000,
I want to place the first few characters of the product name I am searching for in A16 and use a wild card (*) such as this:
INTER* or INTER *
SOL* or SOL *
It works if A16 contains exactly 6 characters but the wild card doesn't work which is necessary because I do not always have a product beginning with a word of 6 or more letters (they are different character lengths)
Is there a way to make the wild card work or is there another way to do this?
