The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to Create a Macro to automate percentage Generation

Asked by TOPIO in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, Office & Productivity Software, Software Office Suites

Tags: , , , ,

I will have a column on row I with the pallets on a container and I need to put in Column J the percentage that they represent of a full load, the problem that I have in developing a macro to do this is the fact that the number of rows will vary from one up to 10

So for example I have the information and the end result in the following example:

                  [ I]            [J]            [K]
[3]            PALLETS                     $2,912.95
[4]      11.00            0.423076923       $1,232.40
[5]       4.00            0.153846154       $448.15
[6]      5.00            0.192307692       $560.18
[7]      2.00            0.076923077       $224.07
[8]      4.00            0.153846154       $448.15
[9]      26.00

I start with the data in j3 which is the total cost
and with the information on I4 to I8

These are the values that I need to Automate  the  calculation with the macro
On I9  I have the total which is a result of the formula SUM(I4:I8)
On J4 to J8 I have the percentage of the load  =I4/I$9, =I5/I$9, =I6/I$9, =I7/I$9, =I8/I$9
On K4 to K8 I have the value that correspondes to every value
=J4*J$3, =J5*J$3, =J6*J$3,=J7*J$3, =J8*J$3

The problem that I have is that for example in the data above I have 5 rows  of data but I could
have 3 or 3 or 12.

Ideally I would like for the macro to be started after I select the range of  I4 to I8 and then it creates the rest fo the calculations
