If F8 does not solve the problem, then you should check if any of the 2 'shift' buttons in your keyboard is stuck!

Browse All TopicsUsing Excel 2003 and have suddenly encountered a problem. I can no longer select just one cell in any spreadsheet.
As soon as Excel loads and I click anywhere, it locks to that cell and no matter what I do with the mouse, it just expands the selection and doesn't allow me to do anything.
I have to close Excel via task manager to get out of it.
