With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. Writing slightly complex If Then Else statement

Hello Experts,

I need some assistance writing this If then Else statement in Excel. I've only really begun to dabble in Excel and you'll find the logic I'm hoping to translate is written more along the lines of VBScript. This logic is untested at the moment so I may have to ask for help in making any adjustments. I promise not to take too much of anyone's time with re-work without rewarding for it.

Here's the problem history in brief: I'm creating a spreadsheet to track vacation time. Employees are given X amount of days vacation. Within those X days, they are given 8 hours of Emergency time to use as they see fit. The employee can only have as much emergency time (up to 8 total hours) as they have vacation time available so if vacation time is less than 8 hours, emergency time needs to reflect that.
