vlookup in pivot tables

Asked by clal in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

I am using Excel 2003 (can use Excel 2007 if needed)

I have a pivot table (attached) with subtotal per customers of licenses and pricing levels.

I want a formula in the column next to the pivot table and only for the subtotal rows (cells highlighted in yellow) that will enter 1 if there is Ent Agreement in the pricing levels for this customer, 2 if there is "Select" in the pricing levels for this customer and 3 if there is "Open" in the pricing levels for this customer.

My issue is that the number of rows for the vlookup varies by customer. (this file is only a short extract of the total file)

I would prefer to avoid VBA code if possible, but can use it if there is no other convenient way.Start Free Trial
