Have a remote user that is having issue with excel, happened all of a sudden. She can not copy data from one document into a freshly opened excel worksheet, the paste is grayed out. (Mouse, menu even keyboard) It can be from any document excel, word, notes with same results to new spreadsheet. If she copies data and then opens excel and then tries to paste it is grayed out. If she copies from one excel worksheet and then opens new blank document with in the same instance of excel it will allow the paste but not from another document. It only happens when she open excel freshly. Another issue she has is she has to remotely access information on a system out of the office, it is in excel so she copies the information then tries to paste to an excel spreadsheet on her system it paste an object not the cells even with paste special. All setting are correct.
All this has been checked on 2 other system in her location they all work correctly no issues..
I have tried system restore, checked add ins - none other than normal, detect and repair Uninstall excel reinstall, Uninstall Office Reinstall, Fully updated, Her Outlook.pst is 2.2 Gig was over 3 but she brought it down (some one once told me larger pst can effect office programs), Renamed normal.dot, and Excel11.xlb thinking it might be corrupt toolbar and checked for malware. We have MacAfee running all the time and it checks system everyday as well as live.
Nothing has fixed the issue. What might I have I missed other than creating anew user profile and trying that.
Badotz: Already scanned with Mcafee and defender and spybot but in the mean time in my mind I kept going back to Addin sure was pointing acting as if it was that. It turmed out that Avery label wizard which had been installed for years and it must have done a update in the background because when I uninstalled it everything started working even the cut and paste from the remote system. it is a macro not addin, I went into Excel options> to see if there was a spot for adins and found under securtiyt tab>macro security that it was listed under trusted publisher. It maybe my ignorance but is this macro the same as an Addin.
