Microsoft Excel - Cant save file on network drive

I have a user on XP SP2 who when tries to save an excel Spread sheet on a shared drive gets the following error message.

Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file 'G:\Rates\Flow Trading\Euroswaps'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being userd by another program.
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.

Have tried deleting the associated .TMP on the shared drive which were created but this didnt work. Any other ideas?
