The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Excel: How To Open a Second Sheet from an Index Column in the First Sheet

Asked by WizeOwl in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software, Visual Basic Programming, Spreadsheet Software

Tags: , ,

I have a list of over 100+ ITEMS (domain names) that I need to manage, and there is too much information for each ITEM to put it all on one sheet in an organized way.

I would therefore like to have a list of these ITEMS in column xx in the Main Sheet, and when I double-click on one ITEM, that action opens a related sheet (call it the Secondary Sheet) for that ITEM.

( Note: If the specified column moves, I'd like the code to follow the column to it's new location, rather than having to modify the code by hand. Perhaps this can be done by identifying the column by header name in Row1 ? )

I would then like an active element, a button, on the secondary sheet which returns me to the Main sheet again.  Perhaps the keyboard's "Home" key or "Alt-Home" could be used as an alternate or shortcut key for returning to the Main sheet, also.  Can the button be floating and not designated to a particular cell, or if that's not possible, it can be located in cell A1 (since the "Home" key takes you there easily).

Everything should be located in one File (or Book) which will have the Main sheet for the list, and multiple separate sheets, one for each ITEM.  The number of ITEMS must not be fixed however.  It may be smaller than 100 or larger than that.  (Btw, is there a limit to the number of sheets you can have per book?  If so, perhaps the secondary sheets can span multiple books.)
