Create a named dynamic range based on conditions

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to do the following...

I have a list of projects in one column, and the start and end dates in the next two columns. I would like to create a dynamic named range that takes an input date and selects just the projects that were active on that date.

Any solution I have thought of until now ends up with a dynamic range with blank cells in it. I want to avoid that.

I'm not sure if this is possible but any help will be greatly appreciated.
