The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Xcel Workbook to manipulate cells based on percentages

Each day I review sales figures for my company. I import the data into an Access database which in return gives a number count of how many sales a product has made on that day. For instance, Flagpole 230, stop sign 1300, etc. I enter the product sales of everything we sell into a spreadsheet for that day. Each row is represented by the product and I have dates in each cell underneath with the total sold for that day.
Im not a programmer, but have an idea that seems logical for my spreadsheet. I have about 6 months worth of data in the spreadsheet. I decided to put this in steps as it will be easier to ask the question.

"      For all the data in the row, I would like to be able to create an average based on the previous days data.
"      After an average is determined, I would like to use this number to influence new data
"      After the days sales for a product is entered, if the number is higher or lower than the baseline average, the cell will turn a color
For example, excel will use the formula from the first step to get an average sold number for a product. Lets say, for all the previous days data, a flagpole sells on average 215. When I input the data for todays day and the number is greater than 215, I would like the cell to turn green. If the data in the cell is below 215, I would like it turn red.

This way, I can know how the days figures rank in real time. I attached a basic spreadsheet to visualize my idea. The 6/4 example would represent that days data.
