The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Delete rows macro functionality

Asked by epaclm in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

I answered this question:
 http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Office_Suites/MS_Office/Excel/Q_23639999.html#a22217905

I was not awarded the points on this occasion and I'm not in anyway concerned about that. Neither do I want to discredit any of the other solutions given.

I'm just curious to find out why the macros obviously work so different for all of the 5 experts involved and the person asking the question.

When I test the macros in the attached file I get the following results:

Reafidy and Brettdj macros comes up with run time errors

ssaqibh macro deletes the first row which hasn't got "AS IS" in C1

Chris macro runs but deletes no rows at all

epaclm (My macro)  is the only one working for me! The macro may be slow since it starts from line 65536 but it work deletes all of the 10200 lines with "AS IS" in column C

Does anyone have any ideas why the macros behave so differently for me, the author and the other 4 experts?

I have attached a file with all 5 macros and test data in column C (C1:C10200)

I'm using Excel 2003.
