The Solution Rating System

  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Microsoft, Excel, 2007, VB ODBC - Querytable.add SQL String problem

Hi, im having a problem with a section of code I am writing in VBA to extract some information from an external database.

The below code works fine but this is the only thing i have managed to get working, im aware that this code will give me all file2 numbers and just display 108202 in all file1 rows but what I actulaly want to do is create a connection.

I have looked up the SQL code to do this and found

"Select [file1].number , [file2].number" &
"FROM [file1] INNER JOIN [file2] ON [file1].number = [file2].number" & _
"WHERE [file1].number = 108202"

however this produces an SQL Syntax error in my code and I can not find the write way of writing this in a string for visual basic.
