The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Summing values based on Cell Color

This is related to Q_23768956 AND Q_23772011

I want to add the number of cells in a range that have a specific background color.

I did find this: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Spreadsheets/Q_22943803.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+base+cell+color+count+excel

I got this to work, but it is not behaving dynamically.  I imported the module found here: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/colors.aspx  --- http://www.cpearson.com/Zips/modColorFunctions.zip

If I attempt to place it within my worksheet_change code, I get various errors.  If I place it in it's own module, then the calculations do not behave dynamically.

This request is specifically for cells J9 and J10.

The calculation I'm using for J9 is:
     =SUMPRODUCT(--(COLORINDEXOFRANGE(D4:G7,FALSE,1)=3))
and for J10:
     =SUMPRODUCT(--(COLORINDEXOFRANGE(D4:G7,FALSE,1)=35))

I've attempted making the cell an array by pressing ctrl/shift enter, but I'm not seeing the array take hold for the cell.

I'm also getting #VALUE!.
When evaluating the error for J9, I get ValidationSample!$J$9 = SUMPRODUCT(--(#VALUE!=3))
