The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. How do I export a simple Excel file in an XML format?

I have a 31 line Excel-file where the top-most line defines 7 fields. That is, there is a heading line and 30 lines of data representing 30 records. When I go to save this as an XML data file (.xml), I get an error message that tells me the workbook does not contain any XML mappings.

The help function of Excel 2003 says I should first add an XML map to the workbook, presumably by saving the Excel file as an XML spreadsheet. Then I should go to the Data menu and map the "elements to my worksheet".

I don't have a clue what they are talking about. In Excel 2003 there is a button the appears to set the so-called XML Maps. When I press this, it seems that it wants me to add a Name/Root/Namespace. Again, I am at a loss as to what it wants.

The purpose for converting the Excel file is to view how the XML data is formated. I was hoping that I could borrow thhis format to create a much bigger XML file using the same 7 fields and display the resulting data in IExplorer. But, For the time being I'm stuck.

Can anyone help me here?
