I've a named range in excel with 2 columns and lots of rows. In column B is the ID and in column C is an amount. THe IDs are sorted but some are duplicates. For the duplicates I need to sum their amounts together and remove them. How can I do this easily.
To give an example:
Col B Col C
------- -------
1 10
1 5
2 8
3 2
3 3
3 9
Col B Col C
------- --------
1 15
2 8
3 14

Have...you looked into an option of making pivot table for the same..as it does what you want...
enclosed is the workbook for your reference where i have made pivot which does what you want...
to make pivots on your workbook...go to data-->pivot-->then select you area..and then hit next...and arrange the layout of the data accordingly what you want to see..and hit finish..you would be good to go...
