Help with Macro to Find duplicates and latest Date

Hi

I am using this macro from MS site to find duplicates in a column in an Excel spreadsheet

In column D i have Dates that the data was updated

I want to find the duplicates in column A with the latest date in Column D, the date format is like 17/12/2008  02:00:29

Also at present the Macro highlights the duplicates in Red but I would like to hide the duplicate row.

Can you please update your sample workbook as from the description i cant make out much about what you want to do...

Sheet normally has lots more data on it but ive cut it down as the important columns are A and D

So to reiterate

I need to find duplicates in column A and hide the duplicate row which has the older date.

In this example LT0556 is a duplicate, the bottom one of the two dated 02/12/2008  09:50:05 would be hidden as it has the older date. Leaving the row dated 11/12/2008  11:32:24 (as its the latest date)

So thats what I want the macro to do

Im just a bit confused correct me if im wrong...How come LT0556 is a duplicate when the value next to is different it is LT0566 which is a different value altogether...am i missing something ..??

Thanks very much for your help

That is nearly it, at present though if there is more than 2 duplicates of the same number it only appears to be hiding 1

for instance where there are 6 duplicates it hides one and leaves five on view.

I just want the one on view with the latest date.

Doesnt really matter about the colour as its hiding the coloured one. However if the duplicate that is left on view was coloured that might be useful, but not vitaly important.
