Excel macro to track users who open the workbook?

I would like to create a script that every time you open a workbook it writes the username and time it was opened to a hidden worksheet in the same (or different) workbook.  First thing is that possible?  Secondly if so, how?

Hi Tom,

You can use the Share Feature in Excel to achieve this. Shared workbooks work well for tracking status and collecting and summarizing information.

Put this code in the ThisWorkbook module of the workbook to be recorded. It writes the username and time to cells A & B of a sheet named "log".

If you change the sheet name pls also update the sheetname in the code below

Your solution would definitely work as well, if I would have thought of that prior to releasing the form.  Basically I wanted a quick and dirty way to do it with the existing form.  Thank you for your input though as it also provides some insight into further application.
