Ratings in a scorecard have different weightings - can't think of the forumla to workout overall rating

Hi All,

I'm sure this is quite simple, but my mind has gone completely blank.

Basically in each row of a spreadsheet I have scores, of 1, 2 or 3. 1 being great, 3 not so great. Each row however has a different weighting. So Row 3 in the spreadsheet might have a score of 1 and have a weighting of 90% and Row 4 has a score of 3 and a weighting of 10%. Therefore the overall score would be 1.

That said I can't for the life of me think what I need to times/divide by what to get that overall score. I guess the overall score needs to be an average of the subscores but taking into account the weighting.

Hi Saurabh,

This does it if the hole section adds up to 100%, but I have a sheet with three section, the sum of all sections adds up to 100%, but I need to know the score for each section as well.

How would I work out sections totals so that came out as a score of 1, 2 or 3. See spreadsheet.

I am not sure of what you are wanting but perhaps this might meet the need:

=A2*B2/SUMPRODUCT($A$2:$A$4,$B$2:$B$4)

It's in the attached file.

There you go...showed you 2 ways to do it..which gives you the same result what you are looking for...the only thing i did is converted your hardcore values to percetange as it makes more sense post that...
