I've checked print preview, etc.
Any clues as to what it is?

This is what is perplexing. The triangle is blue. When I rest my mouse on the pointer turns to a double arrow, no buttons become available. The double arrow allows me to expand some type of formatting range.
I've tried errasing and deltiing the formattting componets (dark border) individually. But they wouldn't disappear. The workbook was created by someone else (surprize) and they used a lot of named ranges. Could it have anything to do with that? I've attemtped to delete the ranges, but the permissions seem to prevent me from accomplishing that either.

Could you post a screenshot? Do you have a chart active or are you editing a cell formula?
