leoahmad,
This seems to work.
1) Enter the following in H3:O3...
1000 500 100 50 10 5 1 Check
2) Enter the following in G4:G6...
3390
2900
2070
3) Enter this formula in H4...
=INT(G4/H$3)
4) Enter this formula in I4...
=INT(MOD($G4,H$3)/I$3)
and copy that across through N4
5) Enter this formula in O4, to serve as our "check"...
=SUMPRODUCT(H$3:N$3,H4:N4)
(The value in O4 should equal that in G4)
6) Select H4:O4, and copy down through H6:O6

Patrick

Hello leoahmad,
1) You are aware that there are many, many ways to hit the amounts using different spreads of denominations,
right? For example, 3390 can be hit by 339 "10s", and other combinations too numerous to list here. Thus,
can we assume you want to use a constraint that you always use the combination that maximizes value from
the highest denominations?
2) Is this supposed to be US currency? If so, please be aware that there are no denominations >$100 in
general circulation...
Regards,
Patrick
