Suppressing recalculation before save

Is it possible to suppress recalculation before save?

I have a sheet with tables and I have set calculations to "Automatic except tables" but shenever I save the file it waits for the tables to be recalculated before saving. I do not want it to recalculate tables at this point.

Hi,

Click the "Tools" / "Options" menu item & review the [Calculation] tab.

Do you have the "[x] Recalculate before save" check-box ticked?

If so, remove the tick & re-try.

The option is greyed out when I select "Automatic except tables".

To enable the option. First select the manual. Then it will be enabled uncheck that option now and then click on automatic except tables.

It should not, If you uncheck that option, Can you please update your sample file.

Here is an example file.

You can change the cell A1 by clicking on the spinbutton in cell B1 of sheet "Analyses".

This sheet will always recalculate tables before save.

The calculations happens because, You still have calculations set to automatic, Here is a quick way arround this, Just move this macro to thisworkbook module which will change calculations to manual when you save the workbook, and then when you open the workbook you can again call for the calculation set to automatic to do what you are looking for, Here is both the sample code for your reference, I combined workbook open code with your exisiting code you have...

I do not understand how you are saying that I still have calculations set to automatic? I have the calculation set at semiautomatic all the time. So why the need for these application calls?

As far as I can see semiautomatic means that tables shall not be calculated. So it should not be doing the same before save.

I have tried the given macros and the problem with them is that whenever I save the document the calculation is set to manual which I have to restore every time manually.

The calculations are restored once you set them to automatically again which will fix it.

Because otherwise excel will do its calculations everytime you save the document.

In that case I will have to live with the recalculation rather than enter into the manual mode.
