VBA Hyperlink into LotusNotes Document starts IE

This did not make any difference. No error was generated, it just starts IE with a blank screen.

If you type that url into IE does it work, or do you get the same result? I am just trying to determine whether the issue is in Excel launching it or with the url.

I get more or less the same result, it gives a message in IE; Bad Request (Invalid URL)

OK so it isnt an Excel issue, it is the url not being interpreted. Notes isn't my area as the last version I had anything to do with was 4 (a long time ago). How do you normally browse to the Notes documents or is this your first time trying this outside of Notes?

If you are using UID for URL

then you may need : as a seperator

If you want to construct a notes:// URL manually, it's of the structure:

    * notes://servername/databaseName/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument or notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument for a document

The point is that the (below) VBA codes starts Internet Explorer to open the URL, not the Notes Client.

Unfortunately this does not give me the solution.
I have NO problems constructing then URL, it works great if I manually copy and paste the URL into the Notes address bar.

However it does NOT work when Im firing the URL from Excel, then it start IE in stead of the LotesNotes Client.

Me again. Have you tried using Shell. I've tested the code below using IE & the microsoft url. I believe you can launch notes from the command line with a url.
