Export data from word forms to excel

I have a bunch of Microsoft word 2007 files. each file is a form which is filled by users. I need to export the data in the files to an excel sheet directly and without opening each file separately.

Hiya Farrahi,

I don't think this is possible, you can only import data directly into excel from .txt files or other plain text formats.
So you would have to convert each word document to .txt files, but then you would get alot of random characters between the date you want due to formatting word documents have.

You can insert a word document into excel by going to insert -> object -> clicking the "create from file" tab then choosing the word document that you want to insert. The only problem is that you can't copy the text out of the word document into the excel document and you can only insert one word document into excel at a time.

The only other thing that i can suggest is the one thing you don't want to do, and that is to open up each word document and copy and paste the data you need.

Hope that helps,

Jamal
