I wouldn't suggest puting the asterisk in the cell itself, but that's your call.

This formula in D4 will check C4 and reformat with an asterisk if it meets the criteria:
=IF(AND(C4>=0,C4<=99),C4&"*",C4)

This VBA code will edit the existing data in place.  Assuming the data that you want is in column C and starts on Row 1.

Sub DoitWeinberk()

    ' code by weinberk

    Dim liCurrentRow As Long

    Dim sCurrentValue As String

    liCurrentRow = 1
    sCurrentValue = Range("C" & liCurrentRow)

    While sCurrentValue <> ""
        If IsNumeric(sCurrentValue) Then
            If sCurrentValue >= CLng(0) And sCurrentValue <= CLng(99) Then
                Range("C" & liCurrentRow) = sCurrentValue & "*"
            End If
        End If

        liCurrentRow = liCurrentRow + 1

        sCurrentValue = Range("C" & liCurrentRow)

    Wend

End Sub

You can use the following code, it checks from row-2 of B Column till the last row of B Column, Plus it trims all your values as well..

Saurabh...

Sub addvalues()
    Dim rng As Range, cell As Range

    Set rng = Range("B2:B" & Cells(65536, "b").End(xlUp).Row)

    For Each cell In rng
        If Trim(cell.Value) >= 0 And Trim(cell.Value) <= 99 Then
            cell.Value = Trim(cell.Value) & "*"
        End If
    Next cell

End Sub

Saurabh-

That doesn't trim values for cells that around between 0 and 99.

Here's code that does

Sub DoitWeinberk()

    ' code by weinberk

    Dim liCurrentRow As Long

    Dim sCurrentValue As String

    liCurrentRow = 1
    sCurrentValue = Trim(Range("C" & liCurrentRow))

    While sCurrentValue <> ""
        If IsNumeric(sCurrentValue) Then
            If sCurrentValue >= CLng(0) And sCurrentValue <= CLng(99) Then
                Range("C" & liCurrentRow) = sCurrentValue & "*"
            Else
                Range("C" & liCurrentRow) = sCurrentValue
            End If
        Else
            Range("C" & liCurrentRow) = sCurrentValue
        End If

        liCurrentRow = liCurrentRow + 1

        sCurrentValue = Trim(Range("C" & liCurrentRow))

    Wend

End Sub

Using variant arrays will be much quicker than a row loop

Plus the code below will work till the last used cell in column B, as opposed to exiting as soon as it sees a blank. Else it may ened prematurely

Cheers

Dave

Sub BerkingQuickster()
    Dim rng1 As Range, X(), i As Long
    Set rng1 = Range([b1], Cells(Rows.Count, "b").End(xlUp))
    X = rng1
    For i = 1 To UBound(X)
        X(i, 1) = Trim(X(i, 1))
        If IsNumeric(X(i, 1)) Then
            If CLng(X(i, 1)) >= 0 And CLng(X(i, 1)) <= 99 Then X(i, 1) = X(i, 1) & "*"
        End If
    Next i
    rng1 = X
End Sub

Experts,

As the first code submission solved the problem I posted, on top of which I offered to create a new question for the TRIM function, I feel the right decision is to award all points to weinberk. I do hope those that submitted code to solve the TRIM problem are okay with it...

To be fair, the variant array option is also a sound solution.
