Browse All TopicsI want to delete the "table names" in a workbook. When I open name manager, the delete button is greyed out and thus unavailable for table names. But is available for "Defined Names".
The workbook was originally designed by someone else. There is no protection on the file of any kind that I can see.
Ideas?

At the bottom of the article it gives an option to delete the table straight from the worksheet.
Delete a table
1. On a worksheet, select a table.
2. Press DELETE.
You can also Right-click on the table in the worksheet > select Delete > and select either Table Columns or Table Rows. Once you have remove all the columns and rows the table will no longer show in the Name Manager either.

I resolved it myself.
Go to the table name
right click
select, covert to defined range
name mannger
select defined range
delete.
I'm confident this is not ......the way its supposed to work however. Thus the question remains open.
