How do I suppress the ActiveX dialogue box which appears when the file is first opened?

I think this is caused by too high a security setting.  Use Tools > Macro > Security and select an appropriate level (low would be ok if you have active, current, anti-mailware software running).

You may be correct but it's set at Medium at the moment and I don't think it's realistic to ask users to set it at Low - the file is for a team of users.

I would hope there a simple line of code that I can insert into the Workbook_Open() macro to suppress the dialogue box.

I've just tried it with Security set at Low and it does not solve the problem. The ActiveX warning dialogue box still pops up.

I figured out what you were indicating. I've tried it but it doesn't do what I need - it does nothing.

It's a Reference within VBA that I'm needing not to load/register the file in the first place.

I looked through the VBA code and can't see where you are using a call or referencing an object which would need an external library - though I am no expert with VBA for Excel.  Have you tried enabling the add-ins in Tools > add-ins?

In the VBE , goto Tools - References and deselect the two references that are missing. Alternatively, google and download the missing files (Calendar Control 8.0 MSCAL.OCX etc)

Neither reference is missing. It's only the dialogue box I wanted to suppress. However this question is no longer needed as I now understand that OWC is not available for Excel 2007 - so I've got to provide another solution. I will close question - thanks for looking in.
