Here is an example of how it could be done with a formula:

Browse All TopicsI want to click a cell, and then click a button that will insert the current date and time into that cell. I then need to subtract one date from another one, and then display the difference in a "Total Time" cell. I know this sounds a little vague, so I'm attaching a picture that I hope will clear things up. Can anyone advise me on how to go about doing this? Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the fast replies. I am working with your example, Saurabh. I really like it, but is there a way I can make the time show in this way?:
Currently, If column B has an entry like this:
10/28/09 12:54
and column D has an entry like this:
10/29/09 12:54
Column F yields this total:
01/01/00 00:00
Is there a way to make column F show that 24 hours have lapsed between the two dates? Thanks again.

You can use something like this, Just select your row in D where you want the time to be inserted and it will insert date and time automatically in that and in the column next to it will give you the formula of subtraction subtratcting that date and time with column B date and time of that row.
