Excel 2007 Question

Just curious if it might be possible to put some sort of Active X or COM object in an excel spreadsheet that would enable me to query Active Directory within the Spreadsheet itself, say in a text field or something, is this possible?  

I basically have a spreadsheet that I'm using to track issues with and it would be nice to have an all in one type of application that would keep me from having to leave the application and launch others outside of it.   Any helpful  input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gary, thank you for the suggestions, I read over them, not quite what I'm looking for.  These are more for importing queries into Excel, whereas I'm already in Excel and want to do the query.  For example, if I want to search for one particular user I can enter in their username in a text field, click a search button and their information come up....something like that.
