How to calculate Balance in Excel 2007?

I am trying to calculate available balance based on comparing it with a cell that contains a value of credit (Cr) or debit (Dr).. excel experts please help me with this formula... I have attached my excel file for your reference. Thank you very much for your time and effort.

Use this formula in C3 and simply drag it down...

=IF(A3="Dr",C2-B3,C2+B3)

Thank you very much for your reply...but here is the problem that i am trying to sort out....
Everyone would agree that if you total the credit value and subtract it from total Debit value you should get a value equal to balance , correct? but i don't get it like that..
Please check this sample attached file..i get the balance to be a higher value...how to find out where is the mistake...if i have missed a credit entry in the table...then by using the formula that you gave above..it should show me actual balance...but still i get the higher value in balance...

i dont see any differnce because the value in row-5 is hardcoded its not formulas so if i delete your blank row..and drag the formula down, it gives the balance what you are looking for.

Please ignore my last comment...I had a cell not set with correct number format..hence it ignored that cr value...thank you very much for your effort and time...
