I can't say for sure what the issue was, nor what the specific solution was. Basically I kept trying to load and unload the plugin as suggested above. It took a lot of tinkering, but eventually (for unknown reasons) it took. The only advice I could give would be to never try changing more than one thing in Tools/Add-ins - always make one change, close down Excel, re-start Excel before making the next change. It eventually worked out...

I'm running Office 2003 on XP. I downloaded the add-in and did not experience that problem. I would try going to C:\UserName\AppData\Roamin g\Microsof t\Addins and deleting the smf add-in there (Cut and paste it in a different location in case you need it again), and try to re-establish it in C:\Program Files\SMF Add-in.
