Compare and Conditionally format MS Word file to MS Excel file
Is there a macro / script that would allow me to compare a Word doc with an Excel worksheet?
I would like to conditionally format cells in excel with words matching words, the various word's tenses and known synonyms of words in the document.
If the script can also exclude common words that add no value in the search, such as but, and, the, because, however, etc. that would be great.
Tense Example: The word "conducting" can be conduct, conducted. I'd like the script to be able to search for words and match words where "conducting" may be in the Word doc, but "conduct' or "conducted" may be the excel file. Like a forwards and backwards lookup / match between files. Like a forward & backwards lookup / match between files removing, -ing, -ed, when searching.
Synonym example: When I right click on the word "conducting" in MS Word and select the "Synonyms" option, it gives me the following words: leading, showing, directing, steering, etc. If word "conducting" is located in the word document, but the synonyns, such as leading, showing, directing, etc. are located in the excel worksheet, then, I'd like those cells highlighted as well.

This seems to be a little more difficult than anticipated. But, I will play around with this some more in the near future.
OK.
Will that be within a similar timescale; between three & four months?

Thanks all! I'm going to do more research and see if I can figure something out before reposting.

This question is a bit difficult to ask all in one piece. I will do research and repost myself. Thanks for your help.
Anything is possible given enough monkeys (read: "Experts"), an ample amount of time, & sufficient access to typewriters.
Would it be feasible/practical to copy'n'paste the text from the MS-Word document into a separate worksheet within the MS-Excel workbook so that the comparison can be performed in one application?
If a single source for the content is possible, then you may find more "Experts" inclined to offer assistance.
That said,...
Are the tenses & synonyms available in your document or your workbook, or are you expecting to gain these as part of the "macro/script" you are asking for?
