Cannot connect to sps site with infopath using www name but can with servername

Hello,

I cannot seem to create a data source with infopath 2007 to our sharepoint site using our www.xxx.com domain name.  It works fine if I use the servername, however the server always converts the URL's back to the www name and then it breaks because Infopath won't see the site.  This only appears to be an infopath issue.  Internal DNS is fine.  I can create network places etc to the same resource.

Error is:  Infopath cannot connect to the site.  The site may be temporarily offline or your computer might not be connected to the network.Start Free Trial
