Everywhere I find some example of codes, it all starts with "Add 'Imports System.Data.SQLClient'" - but the System object does not contain "Data".
Other places tells me to use the secondary data connection - but this is VERY slow when I just need a specific record from a table with 37.000 records.
Finally someone tells me to use a webservice - but it must be possible just to create a very basic and simple SQL Query like:
"Select id, Name from MyTable where id=1"

I would recommend looking at www.infopathdev.com for some code samples.
www.qdabra.com has the web services for complete integration and multiple queried connections.
Code has to be maintained but will work. Web Services are really the way to go but take more to setup but once you have them they can be reused again and again.
